In the past, it was assumed that golf shoes needed to look a certain way. adidas is continuing to challenge that mindset. Today they introduce REBELCROSS. It’s yet another silhouette they are adding to the adicross range that’s meant to capture the cross-section between streetwear style and a pin-seeker attitude.
REBELCROSS is a sleek and progressive design that subtly gives golfers the performance they would expect from a golf shoe. Built on the comfortable YEEZY last, the rubber spikeless outsole features GRIPMORE in the forefoot so golfers get a great combination of wear-anywhere versatility and high-level performance.
“Like anyone else when it comes to style, golfers want to have the chance to express themselves, and one of the ways they can do that is through their footwear. With REBELCROSS, golfers will get elevated style and functionality that they’ll be impressed with not only when they put them on, but when they perform on the course.”
While style and versatility were a focus for the design concept, performance was still essential. adidas got creative by taking some inspiration from the ZG21 model in their range and created a midsole that features LIGHTSTRIKE and BOOST cushioning. They’ve found this combination to offer an amazing lightweight feel with comfort that golfers expect over the course of the round – or wherever the shoes take them after that last putt or swing. There’s also a subtle addition of a TPU heel clip also provides great stability when golfers need it over the course of their rounds.

Rebelcross blends high performance with fashion/street style while being inspired by the Bauhaus design movement, combining art and functional design to create product with the soul of art. Using geometric shapes common in Bauhaus design language to create tractional elements on the outsole and support panels within the upper. The shoe is built with performance first, but the technical features are more concealed with an “under the hood” mindset."

The shoes offer a waterproof (one-year warranty) upper that combines rich, premium leather with recycled materials, continuing to prove that versatile performance is possible.
" The sidewall rubber heel wraps up, encapsulating the boost foam and TPU heel clip adding more external heel support while retaining that boost comfort.
The approach to the outsole was seeing the bottom as an art canvas. Create unique visuals with function and purpose. Treating tractional elements like visual art, the geometric patterns are specifically placed to enhance rotational grip as well as lateral/medial stability. The edges of each shape in the pattern are multidirectional for fine-tuned traction. The forefoot traction is directly injected allowing the lugs to be more dynamic during key areas of the swing, while the rubber heel traction offers more comfort and durability for walking.
