adidas x Marimekko | 2023 Collection
Introducing the adidas x Marimekko collection, ready to hit the fairways...
Finnish design house Marimekko has teamed up with adidas to produce a collaborative clothing range introduced to the golf course. Previous Marimekko x adidas collaborations have seen both counterparts design apparel, footwear and accessories in various other sporting sectors, however, both parties decided golf was next on the list of sports to explore for the spring/summer '23 season.
The latest collaboration grasps two iconic prints from the Marimekko archive of the 1960s, combined with adidas’ performance-based technology materials to produce a forward-thinking, trend-setting summer collection. For 2023, the adidas x Marimekko designs feature two prints from the 1960s, Linssi and Lokki, two iconic compositions from the Marimekko archive. For the golf apparel, both adidas and Marimmeko selected the Linssi print, initially designed in 1966 by the textile and environmental artist Kaarina Kellomäki and has remained a timeless icon.
The golf apparel selected at TRENDYGOLF consists of five pieces: the Marimekko golf skort, the Marimekko golf jacket, the Marimekko golf dress, and the men's & women's Marimekko golf polo. Each piece is excellently crafted with adidas’ quality performance AEROREADY technology which benefits from moisture-wicking and four-way stretch properties, designed with comfort at the forefront and perfect for a round of golf. The Linssi print is present throughout the collection, ensuring this apparel is a must-have for every fashion focussed golfer's summer fit.
For sustainability purposes, the Marimekko x adidas collaboration boasts recycled fabrics and Parley Ocean Fabric - adidas’ promise to reduce carbon emissions in the production phase and to help the fight against plastic waste dumped into the oceans. The clothing line ensures the wearer looks sleek and stylish whilst the fabrics are sustainably sourced and recycled. A celebration of self-expression through movement and iconic prints, combined with a modern expression of print and performance, ready for the spring/summer ‘23 season.
